Facts Plus 2007 Edition

A new edition of Facts Plus, my first book and perennial best-seller, is now available for $19.95. The new ISBN is 1-879478-26-9. A 25% discount is still available for classroom sets of 25 or more books. The Facts Plus Activity Book to match this new edition will be available in a few months.

General News

For several years, we traveled and did home school workshops around the country. Now that we're older (it happens to everyone, you know), we don't actively seek speaking engagements, although I am happy to respond to invitations. I still love speaking and sharing with teachers and homeschoolers, but frequent travel, especially all the way from Alaska, isn't my top priority. My husband has become gradually more resistant to long flights with layovers.

Recently, we purchased a motor home and Jeep which are stored near the Salton Sea in southern California. We plan to be in that area January 15-March 25, 2007 and possibly in winters to come. Last year we took a 400-mile trip on the Baja Peninsula with four-wheelers. There's a whole new adventure ground awaiting us there during the dark cold Alaska winter.

Although we don't plan lots of travel in the future, I'd still appreciate hearing from any of you who would like me to speak to your group or school. E-mail me at Susan@SusanCAnthony.com.

Dictation Sentences from the Bible

Hundreds of dictation sentences are now available to follow Spelling Plus lists 37–69. These are from the New International Version of the Bible and references are included. Teach Bible while teaching spelling and provide the extended and mixed practice kids need for mastery!

Dictation Sentences from Children's Literature

It has been an aspiration of mine to provide additional dictation sentences, keyed to Spelling Plus lists, from children's literature. So far, I have only completed Black Beauty. I spent hours on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and was almost done when the program crashed, and, of course, I hadn't saved my work!

Check the Resources section periodically for additional dictation sentences, or you can download children's literature yourself and search for the words you want to include in dictation. A great source for literature now in the common domain (copyright-free) is www.gutenberg.org.

May he give you the desire of your heart, and make all your plans succeed. Psalm 20:4
