Abstract
Notes:
- There was a delay of between 2 days to 2 weeks in presentation of seven of the children. One child who came in two weeks after injury was not previously known to have hemophilia.
- Three of these children had skull fractures.
- The most frequent history given was a simple fall at play.
- Intracranial bleeding has been reported in 2-13% of children with hemophilia and von Willebrand's disease.
- In the absence of child abuse, an inherited coagulation disorder should be suspected.
