Managing Money

My husband and I were not churchgoers when we met. When he expressed a desire to marry, I told him it was important to me that he first be out of debt. He struggled with that, not wanting to make the sacrifices it would require. When we were invited by a friend to take the class that had helped his family become debt-free, I was interested. If God agreed that being debt-free was important, I thought, how could Dennis disagree?

This class eventually led not only to Dennis' decision to do what it took to become debt-free, but to our happy marriage and involvement in a church that challenged us to a renewed commitment to our faith. A Bible study there became the small church we now attend, and in 2000 someone asked us to present the class. We used Larry Burkett's video series, How to Manage Your Money. Unfortunately, I was unable to find where you can order the tapes themselves. They may no longer be available. The workbook can be purchased from Crown Ministries.
