Teach a few words each day. You can move on to the next lesson after the child has learned only 5 or 6 words, but continue to reinforce and introduce new words within the sentence structure.

Possible Procedures

• If student has problems with pronunciation, have her watch your mouth closely and show how to hold the lips and tongue. If the problem is very great, skip the word until the pronunciation problem can be remedied.
• If student has trouble with a few words, have her repeat the word several times, rapidly, then return to a known object, back to the unknown object, known, unknown, etc.
• Review at every opportunity, especially words that present any special problems for children.
