The first three Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, are called the Synoptic Gospels. The Synoptic Gospels emphasize Jesus' Galilean ministry. 11 disciples were from Galilee in the north. Jesus' Judean ministry (Jerusalem) is emphasized in John. Judas Iscariot was Judean.
