Names of Antichrist

  1. Antichrist, "opposed to / instead of Christ"
    • 1 John 2:22: Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist — he denies the Father and the Son.
  2. Man of Sin, Son of Perdition
    • 2 Thessalonians 2:3: Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition.
  3. The Lawless One
    • 2 Thessalonians 2:8: And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.
  4. The Beast
    • Revelation 11:7: Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.
  5. Bloody and Deceitful Man
    • Psalm 5:6: You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.
  6. The Wicked One
    • Psalm 10:2,4: In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

    • Psalm 10:18: ...defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

    • Psalm 52:1: Why do you boast of evil, you mighty man? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
  9. The Enemy
    • Psalm 55:3: ...at the voice of the enemy, at the stares of the wicked; for they bring down suffering upon me and revile me in their anger.

    • Psalm 74:8-10: They said in their hearts, “We will crush them completely!” They burned every place where God was worshiped in the land. We are given no miraculous signs; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be. How long will the adversary mock you, O God? Will the foe revile your name forever?
    • Isaiah 59:18: According to what they have done, so will he repay wrath to his enemies and retribution to his foes; he will repay the islands their due.

    • Psalm 110:6: He shall judge among the nations, he shall fill the places with dead bodies, he shall execute the heads of many countries.
  12. The Violent Man
    • Psalm 140:1: Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men.
  13. The Assyrian
    • Isaiah 10:5,12: Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger and the staff in whose hand is My indignation.... Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Lord has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, "I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks."
  14. King of Babylon
    • Isaiah 14:4: Take up this proverb agains the king of Babylon, and say: "How the oppressor has ceased, the golden city ceased!"
  15. Lucifer, Son of the Morning
    • Isaiah 14:12: "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!"

    • Isaiah 16:4,5: Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Moab; be a shelter to them from the face of the spoiler.
